Mac Mini memory upgrade

I have a Mac Mini 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 that came with 4GB of RAM. I want to upgrade to 8GB. Can I put a single 8GB module in a single slot or it's better to put (2) 4GB modules?

I found this 8GB module in Memoryx.com for US$ 59.98, almost half the price if I buy it in Applestore. I think there's no problem if I don't use Apple memory, right?

You don't have to use Apple memory. Moreover, you should buy memory from third-party sources because Apple memory is expensive and it's the same as the memory that other sites sell.

You can buy memory at OWC or Crucial > http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Apple/Mac_mini/DDR3_1600 If you install 2 modules of 4 GB, you will use Dual Channel, having a better performance. However, if you think you will add more memory in the future, you should consider the option to buy one module of 8 GB or buy more than 8 GB.
