How to use iTunes gift card on Apple TV?

You have to redeem the gift card on your computer or IOS device, the Apple TV will then automatically use any credit on the account first before charging a credit card.

I have an iTunes gift card I want to use to purchase TV shows on my Apple TV. How do I use it? It doesn't seem to give me that option...

You cannot manage your account from Apple TV. You have to select the payment option(s) in iTunes on your computer.

Yes, if there is credit in the iTunes account it should use that in preference to any credit cad details held (at least it always does for me).
