Mail Keeps Asking For Password

My Mail, Version 5.3 (1283), has for the last few months continually been asking me for my yahoo password. Some days I will not get the pop up box asking me for the password. Yet, other days it will ask me half a dozen times if not more. The pop up always ask if I want this password remembered in keychain and of course I check the box.

I have deleted my account several times to no avail. I also have changed my yahoo password and that did not stop the constant password box from popping up to allow me access to my emails.

What else can I do?

Yahoo does have frequent outages, which can cause the same message...

Open Keychain Access, search for yahoo, remove those entries & carefully put them in next time it asks.

Resetting your keychain in Mac OS X...

If Keychain First Aid finds an issue that it cannot repair, or if you do not know your keychain password, you may need to reset your keychain.
