Problem with front camera in Ipad 4

My aunt bought the new ipad (ipad4) via Internet in USA in December 2012. When she came back in Vietnam, she gifted it to me. I received the ipad for my Christmas present in 24 December 2012. All functions of this Ipad is fairy good except for today I realize that the front camera of my ipad brought worse quality than the others at the same version. The quality of my ipad 4 is compared to 0.3 MP. When i took the pictures by Ipad 4 of my friend, i realized that the quality is totally different from mine.

I really worried and need help because I am in Vietnam now.

You are sure that it's an iPad 4 and not an iPad 3 ? What's the model number on the back of the iPad - it's just above the serial number at the bottom of the back, starting with 'A' followed by 4 digits. The iPad 3 only had a 0.3 meg front camera, the iPad 4 has 1.3 meg

Yes I am sure because the accessories attached in the box and information of this Ipad is 4. 😟

The iPad uses the smaller lightning connector, not the larger 30-pin connector that's on the older models i.e.

Exactly the one I use at home now. Normally, we distinguish Ipad 3 and 4 by this connector 😟

I mean the camera in the front side of Ipad 4, when I use it for facetime or taking picture at the front size.

The camera on the LCD side is a very low resolution VGA camera (the one for Facetime).

The camera on the back cover is a high resolution camera.

The front camera is a lot lower resolution than the camera on the back - on the iPad 4 it's 1.2 meg compared to 5 meg.

When comparing with your friend's iPad 4, you are comparing photos taken with the same camera ?

Thanks for your both help.

I know that the camera in the front side is lower resolution compared to the back side. When I took the photo on my friend ipad, i tried the front and the back as well. and I firgured out the fact as mentioned in my top post.

I doubt that this problem comes from the hard part of Ipad 4?

Have you got any apps that show a photo's resolution on your iPad e.g. iPhoto shows it (via the 'i' button at the top of the app), as does PhotoMeta and MetaPhotos (which is free)
