Importing without copying, no alias is created in media folder...

Importing files with copy works great but without copying no alias is created in media folder...

We are on Xsan, we work with Add San Location, but when we copy file it works, but we don't want to duplicate files.

The spaces is to important and actually this is the problem that stop us to switch from FCP 7 to X.

I hope someone at Apple looks at that support page to help us to choose FCPX, not Premiere in our broadcast television.

Thanks

(the last version of FCP X)

Have you reviewed the FCP X & XSAN Best Practices white paper yet?

And if I'm not mistaken, when using XSAN, you have to copy the media into the Event folder, or create Optimized media. Links from local drives to XSAN drives don't work. That is an XSAN issue, not an FCP X issue.

So when you import media into an Event, I'm assuming the Event is on the SAN location. What/where are you importing media from, exactly?
