Everytime my phone reaches 8% battery it just dies, does anyone know why this is? Should i go to an apple store to see if it is a problem that can be reolved? My phone has the latest software so I'm not sure why this is happening.

Do you get 'Battery Low' warning indication at 20% and then at at 10% ?
Even though it is not mentioned in any document, what percentage of Battery do you consider when your iPhone 5 should die ?
I get a 'Battery Low' indication at both 20 and 10%
The only reason I'm concerned is because my phone was able to stay alive until 1% and still run for at least 3 minutes...
So I was just wondering if there was an explanation as to why this would be happening now, when only a week or two ago it was operating normally

Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup... Restore as New...

Yeah as new! Do you think it could be a software error? Probably not if I'm the only one experiencing it...
But I was just thinking and it was fine up until I installed the update iOS 6.1.4
If a Restore as New has not resolved your issue...
Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...

Recalibrate the battery meter... fully discharge (until it shuts off) and then fully recharge (don't unplug until 100%). You may need to do this a few times.
Mine does this at 5 %. I had a black iphone 5, and it never did this. Then I had an upgrade on my Sprint line, gave my step-daughter the black iphone 5 and I got a brand new white iphone 5. The white iphone shuts off at 5 percent battery every day. My black one used to run all the way down. I could still use it at 1 or 2 %.
