iPad takes JPEG instead of RAW

Hello community,

I am using a Nikon D5100. If I import only RAW-files it is no problem to edit them. If I take fotos in JPEG and RAW iPhoto shows for import "JPEG+RAW". But if I import this foto(s) I have only the possibiliy to edit the JPEG. iPhoto and the preview don´t show me the RAW file.

I am interested in editing the RAW. Does anybody knows how to help me?

Thanks a lot!

Best regards

Chris

Chris, you cannot edit Raw on the iPad.

Even if you only import the raw, all edits the iPad will make will be done to the raw preview embedded in the raw. I doubt, that the iPad even has raw support for the different cameras.

See: Using RAW images with iPhoto for iOS

When editing a RAW image in iPhoto, the edits are derived from the embedded JPEG, and saved in JPEG format.
