My mouse is STICKY!

I'm anal and my computer is pristine shape. But my mouse feels like someone spilled coke in it (which no one has done). It feels like something got under there. What can I do?

Is there anyway I can get to it from the battery compartment?

ARGH. Someone please help me!! This is SO annoying!

This may be way off the mark. But it is possible for the defective batteries in some of the MacBook Pros to cause that. When the upper battery surface swells, it puts pressure on the sheet metal piece that holds the trackpad contacts.

You may want to take the battery out for a moment and try the trackpad button on AC power. If it feels more responsive, you probably have battery issues. Especially worth checking out if your machine is shutting down early instead of going into sleep mode when the battery runs down.

I figured it out.
I am very anal with my computer and I thought it was clean, but it wasn't. Our mouse buttons are very sensitive. Basically there was some crud that got into the metal and plastic interface and resulted in the left part of the mouse to rise higher than the right. So I got a Q-tip put some cleaner on it, then rubbed into it. Now the mouse is level and the sticky is only slighty there (only cause I did a half-a job). Once I get more time, I'll do a more thorough job. To access this part, just pop the battery out and click the mouse, you'll see where the movements occur.

Interesting - I found this thread b/c I've been unhappy with the mouse action on this macbook pro. It almost feels like there's 2 levels of click in it, a 1/2 click and full click... and it seems to occur only one one side of the mouse!?

I will have to look and see if there's s/t under it causing the problem.

Still, I'm curious if anyone else has this issue? I do a lot of click/select/dragging through sound files and the bad action on the mouse is troubling.

It also seems like they could have also smoothed off the edges of this mouse as they have a very sharp edge/corner which the palm of my hand occasionaly grazes.

Maybe I have a defective (too high?) mouse?

...also going to continue searching for other persons reporting mouse related issues here, although between the super slow search/response time of the forums and the lack of a good keyword for that part (mouse bar?) it's been duanting.

Something dropped on my laptop and the clicker sometimes sticks which also affects other operations. obviously really annoying. no visable damage though!
Speaking of.. has anyone paid for any accidental repairs? Is it expensive to have something fixed? because i was quoted £40 jus to have it looked at. Even though i have a protection plan. Feedback would be much appreciated
