Keyboard speed question

Please tell me how to speed up a wireless iMac keyboard. It can't keep up with my typing. My Imac is 10.8.3. I am a newcomer to the Apple Support community.

It sounds somewhat like you have too weak of a WiFi signal for the keyboard's data stream to keep up with your typing. Have you tried using a different wireless keyboard, to see if that improves the situation? By the way, the "speed" of an Apple wireless keyboard is Not adjustable. You may need another brand's version of wireless keyboard.
