Two step verification in Canada SMS does not work with Telus

Just saw the announcement that Two step verification for your Apple account is now available to Canada.

Tried to sign up, unfortunately after many attempts and testing with a few different phones it appears that Apples SMS server is not connected with Telus mobility as the messages never come through to any of my phones on the Telus network.

So maybe the announcement is a little premature.

For what it's worth, I can't even find the Two-Setup configuration option in Manage My AppleID. I'm in the Password and Security section, but there's nothing about Two-Step verification. I'm completely stumped. (Yes, in Canada. I'm on Rogers for my iPhone.)

Same here, some sites are reporting the rollout in Canada but I've been looking for it for the last 24 hours and it has not showed up for me. I've reset my Apple ID password just to see if that would trigger it, I've purchased an app on my iPhone but nothing yet. Wait and see I guess...

I managed to see two-step verification using my Mac, went through the first step, got my email telling me to wait three days. Today, being the fourth day, I went back to the page and—no two-step verification!

Just got off the phone with Apple Canada. There seems to be a lot of confusion around this issue. Bottom line is that in order to get two-step verification (even to see it on Manage My AppleID), your phone has to use a carrier on the following list, and currently NO Canadian carrier is on this list: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5593.

So for the time being, it looks like we're hosed.

False start.

The option to sign up for two step verification has now been removed again.

I guess they have to get the SMS feature working first.

Here is a request. Apple can you implement the industry standard time based authentication protocol:

Dropbox

Lastpass

Microsoft

Amazon AWS

Then you can use one of the many apps available for smartphones and support users who want something secure but that does not require SMS or an apple hardware device to login to their apple id.

Hi! I have tried to set this up. It is now October 2013 and I have no options available for two step verification here in Canada. I have set it up with Facebook a while back and it works great. I am with Telus. I am very interested in this feature as I use my iPhone for almost all of my iTunes activity. Anyway, I guess we shall wait and see
