When editing photos with iPhoto the picture turns black. What should I do?

When using iPhoto to edit my photos after having changed few of the "barres" (light tones, dark tones, contrast, etc) the picture turn black.

When I exist the editing pannel the picture sometimes show up again, sometimes even stay simply black.

Please give me a good advice.
