i am currently using an Imac i7 mid model year 2011 (with thunderbolt)and would like to target display Imac i7 mid model year 2010 ( with mini display port ) does anyone have experience with this set up?

Does anyone have any experience or comment on this set up? I will be purcasing second imac mid model 2010 but concerned on compatibility betwen thunderbolt and mini display port.

My intended use is to use the 2011 imac as my main computer and use the 2010 as target display ( and running bootcamp in the back ground rendering ).

Any insights or opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Old Toad is right. Run the firmware update and update the target display to make sure everything is up to date.

You can connect MDP to MDP - obviously...

You can connect TB to MDP.
