Connecting Macbook Pro to HDTV

I know this is a noob question that is easily answered, but I could'nt find this question on the forums. So here it is: I have a 13 inch Macbook Pro Late 2011 model, and a Sony HDTV. I also have a working HDMI to HDMI cord.

However, I don't have a HDMI port on my laptop, which makes it all difficult. What is the best way [besides using an Apple TV] to connect my laptop to my TV to watch movies? Should I buy a converter for the HDMI cord? Or something similar? If so, what product exactly would you reccommend? Much thanks!

MacBook Pro (13-inch Late 2011), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Only the MacBook Pro with Retina display has got a HDMI port. However, don't worry because you can connect the computer to your TV with HDMI.

To do it, you have to buy a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, and then, just connect the HDMI cable to the adapter and the TV. The TV will start showing image from the computer automatically.
