IPad streaming spotify suddenly malfunctions

The streaming of music from my iPad and the spotify app always worked without any problems. Suddenly about two or three weeks ago I have a problem I cannot solve:

I can see the airplay icon to stream the music to the AppleTv. I activate it. It turns green. Yet there is no music. It seems as if the song is playing but it is not. It is as if it is frozen.

I have tried to stream music from my iMac via Airfoil. No problem.

I have restarted the AppleTV to no avail.

I am not sure wether the problem started after the latest iOS update.

Does anybody have any suggestion as to what the problem could be?

By the way: the same problem arises with the iPhone.

It sounds as if it could be related to the app. Try to contact their support and also see if other users are having this issue via reviews etc.

Thank yoy for your reply vazandrew.

Unfortunately the problem was not related to the app.

After having rebooted all the devices as well as the router, again to no avail, I logged into the router and up-dated the software (there was an up-date available). I als changed the guest account to only use the 2,4 Ghz (it is a Netgear router).

After all this miraculously the problem was solved. I am not sure what exactly did the trick. Also I find it quite curious that things just suddenly stop to function.

In the end I guess it was related to the different soft-ware up-dates that took place around the same time.

Thanks and perhaps this helps other people with the same problem, at least somehow 🙂
