Trying to use Mavica MVC-CD300 MiniCDs on Quad
I have had an old Mavica (MVC-CD300) camera that burns photos to MiniCDs. My undersanding is that it is saved on UDF format. When I insert a "finalized" disk into my quad, the Mac sees the disk and will even see the file structure. But when I try to open the .jpg file, it says that the file is invalid or corrupt. The files (jpgs) open fine on a PC. I was under the impression that OS X has some UDF ability, but since it wasn't reading the files correctly, I assumed I might need a new driver. Sony support pointed me to Adaptec, and Adaptec pointed me to Roxio. The only UDF drivers for Mac were for older, non OS X systems. So my questions: Is it safe to assume this disk system (UDF) is not suppported by OS X? Is it safe to assume there is no further support by Sony or Roxio for OS X? Is there any other third-party runaround available? I have several thousand photos on miniCD that I would like to use. The only solutions I could think of is borrowing a PC and either burning them to regular CD, and if that doesnt work, converting them to Photoshop .jpgs one at a time. If anyone has a simpler solution, I would sure appreciate hearing it.
