Q: Finder being slow and sometimes non-responsive.
First off here's my system specs:
Macbook Pro (Late 2011)
2.3 GHz Intel Core i5
8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
OS X Lion 10.8.3 (fully updated)
The Problem:
Finder is incredibly slow, sometimes I can open a folder and NONE of the files in the folder will show up. None.
This doesn't happen to just one folder it happens to every single one of them.
When files do show up and I try to delete them (even if it's one file) it won't delete. The trash promp will come up and the progress bar will say deleting but nothing happens no matter how long you wait. Then I can click the circular x button to cancel the delete process and then it just says "Stopping..." and it never does. This causes me to have to go into activity monitor and force quit finder and has made handling files on my Mac pretty much impossible.
I've tried the only thing I know to do besides a clean install and that is run a program like 'Clean My Mac' and that didn't help.
With that said, can anyone help me out here? This is a huge problem.
