May 12, 2013 1:01 AM in response to dizzyrascal.4by Kenichi Watanabe,The software disc should appear on the Desktop (or in the sidebar of a Finder window). Double-click the disc icon (or select it in the sidebar). On the disc, there should is often an Installer, or the application itself.
What do you see on the disc?

May 12, 2013 1:53 AM in response to Kenichi Watanabeby dizzyrascal.4,Thank you for taking the time to help me.
The plain disc with the name of the software underneath it appears on the desktop but not on the side bar.
I have checked in finder that cds and dvds are ticked, so I am at a loss how to run it.

May 12, 2013 2:05 AM in response to dizzyrascal.4by Kenichi Watanabe,Whether it appears in the sidebar and/or the Desktop depends on Finder preference settings. You can check by going to the menu bar in Finder, under the Finder menu, and selecting Preferences. On the General tab, you can select what appears on the Desktop. On the Sidebar tab, you can select what appears on in the sidebar of Finder windows.
But that's not important for your actual problem, since you see it on the Desktop. Double-click the disc icon, to open a Finder window showing the disc's content. What do you see?
