Internet connection is fine but I'm getting the message 'the requested URL was not found on this server' when i try to get BBC world service sound. it worked perfectly last week, why has it suddenly stopped connecting?

I use the BBC World Service on my iPad every day. Suddenly I am getting the message 'the requested URL cannot be found on this server' and the sound will not connect. Nothing to do with the sound on the iPad, this is working fine. It's just the BBC World Service radio sound function that is no longer connecting. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you solve it?

There are two things that you should do to fix this problem.

First of all, reset your modem/router by switching it off or disconnecting it from the mains power for about two minutes and then connecting it up again. This alone might fix your problem.

If not, then reset your ipad,

Reset your iPad by pressing the 'Sleep' and 'Home' button at the same time for about 15 seconds or so. Your iPad will then go through a reset / reboot procedure and will be ready for use within about a minute.

Don't worry about doing this as you will not lose data or settings.

Good luck and do report back.

I have been listening to this service - and still do (it's on now) on my pc. Ihaven't tried on iphone as it takes up too much memory and I only listen at home anyway, hence the beauty of the iPad - up till now. The link that brings the sound from the BBC World Service is: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/player/bbc_world_service As I say, it's on right now on my pc so I believe the problem must be on the iPad, which worked perfectly up till last week...
