Can i use Airport Express to extend the network of my DLINK WiFi Router

Can i use Airport Express to extend the network of my DLINK WiFi Router. My broadband service provider supports only DLINK WiFi Router. Hence i wish to extend the network in my home using Airport Express. Kindly advice if it is possible to use AE as extender on a non apple router ?
