Q: Mirroring from Mac Book Pro to Apple TV

The airplay icon is not available on my nenu bar and it is not available in the display options. Can anyone advise me on how to mirror my Mac Book Pro to the Apple TV?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Mirroring requires a recent Mac (2011 or later) running 10.8
