Using Airport Extreme with DropCam

My airport extreme is connected to my wireless network (Verizon FIOS) using the "join network option" It is located in my studio . I recently purchased a drop Cam to broadcast the happenings in my studio. I set it up to connect to my network and it connects but is constantly dropping the connection. It should be using the airport extreme that is sitting right next to it. I originally set it up without the airport extreme and I thought inerting the airport would help improve the connection but it doesn't appear to have done anything???? Any suggestions?

Morning kt4ever,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

In client mode, the AirPort is used exclusively by the device to which it is physically connected. It won't extend the range of the Wi-Fi network, meaning that other devices, such as computers, cannot connect to it wirelessly.

Hope this helps,

I have a Verizon FIOS Actiontec router in the house. I have an AirPort Extreme in my studio. It can join the network, but it cannot extend the network! There is nothing connected to the extreme. Is it broadcasting the wifi to my studio? Is my iMac connecting to it wirelessly? How can I extend the wireless network to my studio? I have an old airport(white dome) that I am not using. Should I move the extreme to the house and connect it to my FIOS router with Ethernet cable and create a second network? Can that network be extended? If I plug in the old airport in the studio? The Actiontec router stinks
