I bought a new JBL speaker to use with my iPad 1st generation. I enabled Bluetooth in settings and followed online directions. My iPad will recognize the JBL speaker, but will not pair. Both speaker and my iPad are supposed to work together.

There's no secret way of pairing. You pair the way you attempted paired.

The speakers don't require a passcode as far as i can tell. Make sure its not paired with anything else at the time, (turn it off or move it far enohgh so it disconnected), and follow the pairing instructions, the Power button should flash different colors. Then look for it on your Phone's Bluetooth settings page, and tap to pair.
