How do I get my ipad onto a new computer?

I recently had to get a new computer and I'm trying to add content from my new computer onto my iPad. ITunes won't let me. Any ideas on how to fix? I'm on a Windows 8 PC now (I know, I know. It's a work need. We also have three additional Macs so we're good). I was running Vista before.
