Hello,
iTunes won't open on my HP Pavilion dv6 running Windows 7. I have tried all of the suggestions in the following discussion to no avail: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5030036?answerId=22001149022#22001149022&ac_cid=tw123456#22001149
In need of some fresh ideas on how to fix the problem. Please help!

Hit Ctrl, Alt, and Delete. the go to procceses. Then "End Process" on EVERYTHING APPLE REALATED that will reset everything the invloves itunes alowing it to complety reset.
Then Start it up again! It should work now! 😎
I just got it to work by doing something else right before you posted this. I moved the iTunes folder out of my music library. For some reason that did it. Thanks for your help!

Um not trying to sound stockish. but what device do you use with itunes? Like ipod touch, ipad, or iphone.

ℹ Hey but the directions will aply whith windows when iTunes won't come up and you don't feel like rebooting your laptop. Its a LOT easier. May come in handy.
I had the same problem and tried everything.
Here was my problem. I had a hard disk crash, and so I reinstalled a new hard drive. Reinstalled window and the rest of my software. I brought over all my backed files back to the new hard drive. Now here is the problem. I brought over all my itunes music files and my itune's file folder. It was this "brought over itunes folder" which was causing the problem. Once I deleted it.--------> iTunes loaded normally. It also created it own new folder
I had same issue - tried many suggestions from this and other posts - only thing that worked was from another post - deleting Quicktime, then restarting computer.

I check my processes in the Task Manager and sure enough iTunes was still running. I stopped the iTunes process and the iTunes helper process and iTunes launched just fine. I have had a similar problem with Firefox in the passed. Thanks for your help.
