Home sharing stopped working. Windows 8 Netgear wndr3700 router

Have two AppleTv's that home sharing stopped working on. Windows 8 Pro, Netgear WNDR3700, Dell 9100 XPS. Have gone through two calls with Appletv support but no permanent fix. Homesharing says it's on. on the appletv's and itunes, all with the same id. One call had me power cycle my Cox cable modem, Netgear router, PC and Appletv's but no go. Second call had me disable Port scan and DOS protection plus change NAT filtering from Secured to Open.This worked for a couple day then nothing. Windows firewall is on, inbound trafic allowed from itunes.

PS3 and iPhones work fine on wireless

Anyone have other ideas? Thx.

I would troubleshoot by trying to connect it wired both computer and atv

if all is well there then I would know that the router was the issue

I would then test with another router periodic defects in routers making them behave erratic is not uncommon

This definitely helped. Trying this pointed to my PC. Turned out airplay was not loading when iTunes was started up. Had to restart my PC and then airplay loaded when I started up itunes. Once airplay was active home sharing worked on all my ATV's. I'll have to monitor and see how long this lasts.
