Agree whit Nesimfrommarmaris.

in my country are so many devices 4s who have this problem. Even after 3 or 4 replacement of the device remains the problem as well as the problems with the bluetooth.

Reset the device (DFU or not) is completely useless as useless any attempt.

Baseband problem????

tell the truth and make a version of IOS that solves the problem.

NOW

Ive tried every trick that you guys have put on the web, so far the only thing that works is resetting my phone with fingers crossed that wifi will work. my only question is are you guys developing a solution for this problem, because it is an ios issue. If not please let us know so we can bin these phones and switch to android, its the only sound advice im getting.

But do be careful as all your apps will be deleted!...

I've followed the instructions, it worked for a day and my Wifi has gone yet again! I've just tried to restore my back up again to see if my Wifi will activate again (as it did when i restored it last time), but it hasn't this time.

Really annoyed as i've recently had my handset replaced due to a fault with the on/off standby button... and now this!

Not impressed at the moment Apple!

Get it sorted! 😠

Hi, somebody told me to let your battery drain all the way down. I couldn't be bothered to wait so I took the back off the phone (very easy) then disconnected the battery (the phone was left on before removing the back and disconnecting battery). Left disconnected for 1 minute then put back together. Took about 3 minutes in total, no data loss and now works perfectly again. Don't pay apple a fortune to fix this bug!!

Doesn't this void your warrenty of the phone though!?... and don't you need the fancy screwdrivers to open it up?

I won't be paying anymore to have the fault repaired, as i say this one i have now is a replacement "new" handset (apparently)! Just makes me so annoyed, the option of being able to use the Wifi on your handset, but by the sounds of it alot of people can't!!

For your information, the failure is occurring OUT of the warranty period. Apple is NOT obligated to replace anything outside the warranty period. No company is obligated to do that. If the problem occurrs during the one year warranty, or if you purchased the two year AppleCare Plus warranty, then you have nothing to worry about. Pay your $49 under the AppleCare Plus and get a new phone (pay nothing under the first year coverage). You would be a fool to repair the phone yourself when it is still covered under warranty. The self-fix is for the iPhones out of warranty and for those that do not want to pay $199 for another replacement phone. It's not that hard to figure out.

While Apple is not obligated to do anything outside of the warranty period under the law, they DO provide an out-of-warranty replacement for devices. This is whether it is due to damage not covered by warranty, such as liquid damage, or if there is a problem detected after the normal warranty has expired.

I can walk into an Apple store, today, with an iPhone 4S 64GB purchased over a year ago, without AppleCare of any kind, and get a replacement for $199. That's $550 less than a new replacement.

Nothing I said in my post was incorrect. Even an iPhone that is 'out of warranty' has options via Apple. Your fix removes those options. It just needed to be clear that your 'fix' is all or nothing. If it does not work, then no further options are available for the customer. The customer needs to understand the consequences of your fix, if it doesn't work.

WIth your fix, there is no guarantee it will work. It's likely that it will, but no promises.

With Apple, they WILL replace the phone.

It is OBVIOUS that your fix is for people that don't want to pay money to Apple. But for those that are willing to pay for a guaranteed fix, it needed to be said.
