Q: Using iPhone5 in Europe

I am traveling to Europe and want to be able to use my iPhone and iPad for texting, email, and facebook. If I disable Cellular Data under Settings/General/Cellular, will that eliminate any unexpected charges? I would just find free WiFi and connect via that. Then I could use WiFi for texting, email, and facebook. Will this work? Tha

Hi dustandbones,

From the description you provided, it sounds like you are basically wishing to re-purpose the iPhone as a Wi-Fi only device. This is definitely possible:
