Just bought an iPhone 5. Went to the Apple site and downloaded the iPhone Users Guide (pdf) onto the iMac. Saved it to the desktop and when I went to reopen it I get a message that the file cannot be opened as [PREVIEW] does not recognize the file. Talk about FILE incompatibility. I would expect this from a PC.

Just like a PC you simply need to go to Adobe.com and download the free PDF reader (for Mac). Then this will work just fine.
