I have never synched my IPad with ITunes to my laptop. I am confused! Please help!

Try 0000
I never set either passcode but Restrictions required one to get in so I tried a typical passcode that I might have used. It didn't work so I tried 0000 and it worked.
After upgrading my IOS a pass code restrictions was suddenly there but I did not EVER set it up! Now I need to reset and have no clue how to find the pass code! Is there a default pass code on restrictions?
