Hi fatman234,

If you are looking to find the serial number of your iPod, you may want to take a look at this article for some of your various options:

Apple Support: How to find the serial number of your Apple hardware product

If you had your device set to back up in iTunes, you may be able to follow the steps in this article:

iOS: How to find the serial number, IMEI, MEID, CDN, and ICCID number

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4061

If you have access to your computer, but not your device

Devices tab

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. Open Preferences. (In Mac OS X, choose iTunes > Preferences. In Windows, choose Edit > Preferences.)
  3. Click the Devices tab.
  4. Position the mouse over a backup to display the serial number of the backed-up device. iPhone and cellular iPad models also display the IMEI/MEID and Cellular Data Number:

If your device was the last connected to a Windows machine running iTunes, you may be able to identify the SN using the Device Connectivity Tests, as outlined in this article:

iTunes for Windows: Device Connectivity Tests

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1369

Connected Device Information:

This section of the diagnostic report lists all of the devices currently connected. If no device is found, this section will list the device most recently connected. You should see the model of the device, its software version, and "its serial number".
