Dissolves in EDLs

Hi. I'm running FCP 5.0, running a dropframe timeline, NTSC specs, 29.97 fps.

I'm trying to export an EDL for the post facility. There are a fair amount of dissolves in this video, so I have two video layers. I'm exporting the EDL as CMX 3600, sorting Mater Audio Merged, Reel conflicts: Generic edits, video levels, filters, and transitions included.

The exported EDL looks like the following:

005 WEDSNG01 V K B 01:24:20:28 01:24:22:27 00:01:13:15 00:01:15:14
005 WEDSNG02 V K O 057 03:04:16:21 03:04:16:21 00:01:13:15 00:01:13:15
* OPACITY LEVEL AT 01:24:22;27 IS 100.00% (REEL WEDSNG01)
* KEY LEVEL AT 03:04:16;23 IS 100.00% (REEL WEDSNG02)

The post facility is saying their Henry and Flame machines cannot read these transitions, and that the EDL should contain the word "Dissolve" followed by a number of frames. To fade between video levels I've tried both making keyframes in video levels as well as dissolve filters, but neither seems to produce the required EDL. What is the proper way to prepare and export dissolves for an EDL?

Thanks!

No generic is for reel conflicts. Back in the day when going from tape, it was impossible to do a dissolve unless each shot was on a separate tape. So prior to the session, a b-roll was constructed consisting off conflict shots so they could be dissolved to/from. The modified edl refered to that generated BRoll tape.

Generic edits mean - don't worry about it, the edit system will take care of any conflicts and Henry's and Flames, being non-liner systems handle them just fine....

Make sense?
