Growl or Grow file?

Hello community

I accicently deleted a growl or grow file I dont know exactly what it was called but it looked like a yellow claw or something like it.

I don't know what it does and I would like to know if it is an extension of a app or anything helpful?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

Q: What is Growl?

Growl is a fourth party software that third party software makers use and install on your machine to provide notifications on your screen from their software.

It's harmless, but because it works across many other programs, it's seperate and requires a occassional update.

If you wish to uninstall it, why it's installed or reinstalling...
