Guitar Pro 6 Not Working

I've seen this happen before ...hopefully one of you can explain why this happens.


I look at the specs and it says Guitar Pro 6 is compatible with OS X 10.5. So I download and run the .dmg, copy the app to the Applications folder, "eject" the file it places on the desktop and then when I go to open it, it says it can't open because it's not supported on this system (or something like that).


I've had this happen with Google Chrome, too.


Any ideas?

PowerMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Hi, Welcome to the support forum

You have a PPC mac. This software only supports Intel macs

Guitar Pro 6 for MAC

Minimal Requirements

  • Mac OS X 10.4 or later
  • Administrator's rights for installation, Internet connection for activation*
  • Intel processor only (PowerPC not supported)
  • 1 GB RAM
  • DVD-Rom drive
  • 256 MB free HD space
  • Screen resolution 1024 x 768


So: before you try to install software, it is always a good idea to check the developers website for the minimal system requirements



Google chrome minimum system requirements: OSX 10.6 - Intel macs.
