Ipad keeps losing Air Printer

I have previously installed HP Air Printer to iPad 4 and used it. I have tried to use it again and it says 'Air Printer Not Found'. I have rebooted IPad and Router. no joy. Printer and Ipad using same Internet. I have reset Network Settings, still no joy. When and if I eventually install again to iPad, how can I prevent it happening. Doing the above has solved it previously.

I myself have the officejet 6600, ipad 2, and netgear wndrmacv2 router and airprint won't work no matter what I do. Netgear has an assistant called netgeargenie and you can run it and select devices to work with airprint but you have to have it running (ie your laptop/mac tower os x coputer running) which makes it useless because with sync you can just then print from the laptop.

@Sharonanthony N ADSL2+ is the type of router you have, not the model. That does tell me that it's a router/modem combo though. The model number should be on a sticker on the bottom of the router. I'm needing to know the exact one to verify that it does support Bonjour/multicast services which are needed to AirPrint. I suspect that it does and they have been disabled, but I need to verify that before I start having you look for the setting. 🙂

From what I can find it looks like the router is the problem. At one time there was a firmware update that resolved the problem, but Talk Talk seems to have taken that down. I would suggest contacting Talk Talk to see if you can obtain the firmware update. If they can't, see if they will exchange the router/modem for just a modem and go out and purchase a separate router. That seems to be the only options. Let me know what Talk Talk says.

It doesn't look like it. I can't find a lot on information about it though. The best bet would be to get a Linksys, Netgear, or Apple router. Those three brands work best for AirPrint. You can always try the HUAWEI to see if it will work, but I don't think it will, or if it does, it will be off and on like the other HUAWEI router you have.

Since the Talk Talk one is both a router and modem, you will need to contact them to exchange it for just a modem. Once you do that, you will need a purchase a separate wireless router. Of the three brands I suggested, Apple will be the best since it's made specifically for use with Apple products. The other two will work fine as well, and might cost a little less. Below are links to ones from each brand that will work for you, so you can compare features and price for yourself.

Linksys Routers

Netgear Routers
