my ex wont stop texting me and i tried to block his number but since we both have iPhones i am still getting texts from him. how can i stop this?

unfortunately the iphone is not built on a platform wch supports blocking numbers, so it cant be done.
you may want to consider changing your phone number
Blocking numbers is something done by your cellular carrier. Contact your carrier.
If you have Verizon you can use the My Verizon site to block numbers for up to 90 days at no charge. I've done this on my iPhone for a few numbers and the 90 days seems long enough that the caller doesn't call again after the 90 day period expires. I can always block the number again if need be. I can also arrange to block numbers permanently but Verizon charges a monthly fee for this.
Contact your carrier to see what blocking options you have.
Another option is to assign the caller a silent ringtone and no vibration. The calls will still come through but you will not be alerted to them.
Changing your number is also an option. Contact your carrier to do this.
but verizon said apple has to do it because its through iMessage
how can i block one number on iMessage?
