I can't open iWeb. It is version 3.0.4, so up to date. Can you open iWeb if you had to start in Safe Mode?

I am having ongoing problems restarting my MacBook Pro. Can only do it in Safe Mode. Working with Apple Support to save my files to Time Machine and external hard drive so they can help me with a system wipe and see if we can resolve. But before we do this I want to update my website which is developed on iWeb. Can't seem to open iWeb and keep getting "iWeb Quit Unexpectedly" with all the error code.

Can you open iWeb in Safe Mode startup or is that the reason it won't open? If you can then should I uninstall iWeb and reinstall it or any other solutions.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

Discontinuation of iWeb in iCloud transition

In June 2011, rumors emerged that iWeb would not be developed further.[3] Similar services like Jimdo were already offering special support for users planning to switch from iWeb.[4] On June 30 2012 Apple finally pulled the plug on MobileMe. All iWeb websites hosted on MobileMe disappeared if not hosted elsewhere. Apple provided instructions

of how to move iWeb sites to another host. In this New York Times article

David Pogue shows replacement options for MobileMe services, including iWeb. His suggestions were Jimdo and Weebly.
