I have two 8GB Sandisc Cruzer thumb drives that I have been using succsefully for more than a year. Now I cannot copy any file to them both that is over 25MB in size without my Mac Mini ejecting them. I can copy files to my USB Fantom desktop self powered drive still. I believe it's a problem with my USB ports. Any thoughts?

Hi, what Format are these Sancruers?
Have you tried Disk Utilty to Repair the Drives?
Have you emptied the Trash on them?
Open Console in Applications>Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
Thanks for the reply. They are in their original FAT32 format so that I can move documents between my Mac and PCs. I have not tried disc repair but as the problem accured in both of them at the same time (one of which I never use) I assumed the problem was with my Mac and not in the drives. I have emptied the trash on them. I will try your console advice now.
I am thinking that maybe the external HDD works because it has it's own power supply. I wonder if the supply of power from my Mini is dropping off when moving largish files.

OK, FAT32 has a 4GB limit for file size, & a limit of 128 to 256 items at the root of the drive.
Is the External drive maybe EXFat or NTFS?
My external drive is formated as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). I understand Fat32's 4GB limit but these thumbdrives cannot recieve 26MB without self-ejecting.
Nothing is showing up in Console when this happens. They are self ejecting when I run "verify disk" on them in Disk Utility too.
Try copyimg a 3 GB file to one, does it still eject?
I've tried all kinds of sizes, everything from as big as 3 GB to as small as a few MB. Only files about 25 MB and smaller work.
