Another Memory Thread for G5

I get confused so was wondering if anyone here is "guru" enough to help me with this:

I have 2 X PC3200U-30330

512MB DDR 400Mhz CL3 dimms (one in one bank and one in the other)

Along with that I have 2 X PC3200U-30330-Z dimms (again one in one bank and one in the other)

(they don't say 512MB on them, but based on how much memory shows up on my system they are to equal a total of 2GB of RAM)

Can I add 2 more dimms (one in each bank) that are labeled:

Samsung 512MB PC3200 CL3 M368L6423FTN-CCC $10

My guess is that I can since they say PC3200 CL3 ...but I want to make certain before I get the dimms. I'm only getting them if I can trade the guy for them because honestly I never see my system trying to use anywhere near the 2GB available ...but I figure it can't hurt to have more memory either.

Thoughts?

Hi, I'm not really a guru :-)) but I have some years of experience though, owned a dual 2GHz G5 desktop for 8 years, and fixed many things myself...

Yes, that should work (99%sure). It's also 184 pin, 400MHz, specs look good.

(Only the G5 late 2005 version had 240 pin Ram (DDR2), but from the RAM that you already have, I can see that is not the case here, you must have a model from between june 2004 till early 2005)

More Ram is always better. You can run more apps at the same time, your system will run smoother overall.

For 10$ I would not doubt.
