Adding a Lexmark X7675

I have recently bought this MacBook Pro from a friend and am trying to set my existing printer with it. I seemed to have tried everything and its now driving me mad. Probably something really simple im missing. My MacBook Pro is running OSX 10.6.8 and my printer is a Lexmark X7675. I have added the printer to the network though the Mac and tried to add the printer in the print / fax setting but to no avail. Somebody please help
