Finder snaps back to root folder when moving files in column view

I'm not sure if this has been covered before, I can't seem to find a working solution online, it might be I’m not wording it correctly. I have tried deleting com.apple.finder.plist, restarting has no effect, and I can't locate an option in finder prefrences.

I’m using Mountain Lion 10.8.3.

When I drag and drop a file into a folder, the finder window scrolls back to the root folder. It's kind of annoying.

I was wondering if this is a setting I need to turn on/off, or if it’s a bug with my system.

I have included a video to demonstrate the problem I'm having.
