Q: Why can't I initiate a FaceTime call on my IPad2 without wifi?

I can't connect by cellular to FaceTime on my ipad but can on my iPhone despite the fact that both devices are with the same carrier, can anyone help ?

iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iOS 6.1.3

A:

Facetime over cellular requires a 3rd-generation iPad or later. It's not supported on an iPad 2.

Facetime over cellular requires a 3rd-generation iPad or later. It's not supported on an iPad 2.

Or you can refer her to the bottom of the support article from which you came, where it says:

* FaceTime over a cellular data connection is available on the iPhone 4S or later, iPad (3rd generation or later, Cellular models) , or iPad mini (Cellular models).
