Upgrading to new iPad: how to swap data properly?

Hello, hope you have all been well!

So about to sell my beloved iPad2 and upgrade to a 4...am aware how to back up my data from the original,

but im worried about what happens after that, such as:

-How to properly unlink the iPad from my account before i sell it?

-How do i get my apps and data back into the new device...just sync it or...?

-Any dangers with connecting the new device to my PC first time?

Such as it overwriting all the apps and their data that is currently backedp up to the PC with its blank self?

Just never did device to device share throu, any tips are appreciated thanx!

iPad 2, iOS 5.0.1

Before getting rid of the old device, make a backup to itunes on your comptuer - I consider much mor secure than using icloud.

The with the new device, connect to itunes and choose to restore from that backup.

Once everything seems set on the new device, on the old device, go to settings>genereal, scroll to bottom and tap "Reset", then choose to "Erase all contents and settngs" - that clears it and you can then give it to someone else.

Thanks Pvonk! I have been reticent to use the 'backup device' function, since I've been individually backing up app data via iTunes file sharing. I believe the backup device function will back up apps, settings, and media library, but the app files themselves separate thru file sharing, correct?

Ana thanks for these links as well...do you know by chance if any of this will be complicated by the fact that I will also be registering/syncing a new iPhone 5 before I swap the iPads later in the week?

Providing you follow the above advise all should be well... just be mindful when/if Restoring from a Backup that you select the appropriate one.
