Android VPN to Mac Network

I am using iVPN on an older Leopard workstation and have great success connecting from my Mountain Lion Workstation and my iPad - though these are connected via wired or wifi connection.

Now, I am connecting via Android Phone (software version 4.0.4) with built-in VPN client (PTPP). With 4G, I connect successfully to the network and can access directories from another Leopard machine, a snow leopard machine and my windows 8 machines, but not the Mountain Lion Machines.

I have SMB enabled in the sharing preferences. Any ideas?

  • Name: We'll call it "Vpntraffic Cisco IPsec VPN" in our example, but it can be anything to help you remember the VPN connection.
  • Type: Select "IPSec Xauth PSK" from the dropdown menu.
  • Server address: cnipsec.vpntraffic.com ( not all server support l2tp/ipsec such as Mexico vpn)
  • IPsec identifer: ipsec
  • IPSec pre-shared key : ipsec
  • Tick the checkbox for Advanced options
  • DNS servers: You can set this to use Google's DNS which is: 8.8.8.8
  • Tap Save when finished
