Setting nano play options

I have a new nano (7th gen). How do I set it so that it does not restart a playlist from the first song after the last has played?

Hi MikeLPod,

There is description of the Repeat function for the iPod Nano on Page 25 of the below listed feature guide, which should also include instructions of how to turn Repeat on and off:

Setting iPod nano to Repeat Songs

You can set iPod nano to repeat a song over and over, or to repeat a sequence of songs. iPod nano repeats songs within the list you choose to play.

To set iPod nano to repeat songs:

Choose Settings from the iPod nano main menu.

  • To repeat all songs in the list, set Repeat to All.
  • To repeat one song over and over, set Repeat to One.

OK, that did it, although I would never have guessed it would work from looking at the manual!

During a song, I brought up the gray arrow-chasing-itself and tapped it. It turned blue (indicating "repeat playlist". Tap again, and it is blue with the little black "1" in it (repeat this song). Another tap and it's back to gray. But from then on, that play list (and all others) simply went back to the menu listing after the last song, which is what I wanted it to do. So apparently, cycling through the options unset the "repeat playlist" option that the ipod had upon initial setup and synch.

Thanks for the tip.
