My iTunes library no longer has all of my music or playlists. When I click "On this iPod" it shows everything, but it's greyed out. How can I get my iTunes library back to normal?

I am not sure why, but everything in my library is gone. I no longer see my songs, or my playlist.

When I click on "on ipod" in my itunes, it shows everything how it should be, but it's grey so I can't click on anything. Is there a way to transfer all of that to my itunes again? Or is there a setting for this? I am so confused, I have no idea how/when this even happened!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. Before you go through the process of importing your music from your iPod, check to see if the music is already on your computer. Check in the Following path C:\Users\username\My Music\iTunes\

If there is media there, then import that into your iTunes library.

If you need to transfer your music back from your library, you can transfer purchases that have been made through iTunes. This article will assist with that process.
