How to take passport photos

Use Photo Booth to take a picture with the built in camera or take a picture with any other camera and download it to your mac.

Then use an application to scale it and trim it, for example Preview.

There is a nice tool "Passport Photo" to help you trim a photo for printing as passport photo, but it is not free 1,79€ or roughly 2 US$. Have a look at the AppStore.
