My best friend's dog just chewed up the pair of earbuds that came with my iPhone, and I really liked them, so I want to purchase new ones. I couldn't find them on the apple site, and everything on amazon was really shifty. Is there any way to purchase the same cheap old earbuds through a reliable source? I don't want the new 30 dollar ones that they're selling on the site.

Those were discontinued l;ast year when the iPhone5 and the new earbuds came out. I suppose it is possible a brick'n'morter Apple store (or otehr authorized retailer) may have some left around, but likely you will need to find them through other means such as eBay or Amazon.
If you're talking about the original earbuds and NOT the EarPods, then they should be available on the Apple site.
