For some reason I am unable to "screenshot" from Ipad, when I hold down home and on/off key, it shuts off my IPad, is there a setting I have to change??? Also have the same issue on my IPhone.

iPad, iOS 6.1.3
Simultaneously press the Sleep and Home button. You will notice an on-screen flash. If you have sound enabled, you will hear a camera click.
The screen shot is stored in Camera Roll.
You may need to calibrate Home Button
1. Open a stock application like Calendar, Weather or Youtube
2. Hold down the power button until the "slide to power off" control appears
3. As soon as you see it, press the Home button and keep it pressed until the red slider disappears and the app is forced quit to the Home menu
The way that I do it is to hold down on the sleep button and then press the home button like a camera shutter - press and release. The screenshot will end up in the camera roll.

Are you able to reboot like this? Try it. Then try a screenshot again.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
Phoooey, still no luck, listen real hard and you'll hear my IPad going out the window...

Just press them together, don't hold either and it should work.
Ok guys, pulling my hair out I am determined to get this d&&& thing working? I have the exact same IPad as my husband and he's clicking right left and center taking pics of me being very FRUSTRATED... I've tried all of your suggestions to no avail, wonder if if could be something in setup? maybe and app it doesn't like.. HELP.

I had the same issue! Tried all suggestions! Nothing worked! I purchased the ap called MobWeb. Works great! $1.99
I agree w demo's suggestion, reboot the iPad. They get funky once in awhile.
Hold down home and sleep buttons until you see the apple, let it reboot, then retry it.

This helped me out simple and easy.
Hold down the Home button. (Circle button on the bottom)
While holding the home button hit the sleep mode button on the top of you iPad.
If you have your sound on you will hear it. You will find it your picture in your camera roll. Hope this helps
You can use AssaistiveTouch to take screenshots. To enable it, go to: Setting - General - Accessibility, and turn AssistiveTouch on. A circle will show up on the screen. Touch it and tap "Device" - "More" - "screenshot".
