Multiclip will not change video angle - FCP 6.0.6

My system:

FCP 6.0.6

OSX 10.6.8

2x2.66 GHz-Dual-Core Intel Xeon w/4GB 667MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM

My issue:

I am trying to edit a multiclip with two 720p30fps (filmed on panasonic hvx500) video angles. I use to be able to do it without issue. I had a system drive go bad, and when I migrated all my data to a new drive I had to reinstall OSX and FCP. Since then, Multiclip video angles have been disabled somehow.

Everything functions as normal, except when I hit the key command to change angle, I just get a error sound and it makes the marker in the sequence but when you stop playing it just disappears without making the edit. I have tried multiple different clips, same thing. It is even doing it on my laptop now as well, not sure what to do here? I have scoured the internet and cannot even find someone with this same issue, my FCP works flawlessly otherwise. Any help would be greatly appreciated this is killing my workflow.
