Mac Finder does not 'Find'

Running a G5 Mac Pro 2x2.8GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon. 10gb RAM with 4 internal hard drives. OS 10.5.8

The finder will not find all the files when I do a find. I am having to use Easyfind app to search my internal hard drives.

Despite what I try with Spotlight I cannot get the finder to operate successfully.

Can anyone please give me any pointers in this one . . . ?

Many thanks in anticpation.

I've found many people often call the Mac Pro a "G5" because it's (still) the same design.

As for the question, you can try opening the Spotlight system preferences and adding your hard drive(s) to the Privacy list, followed by immediately removing them. This will force the system to rebuild the Spotlight index and hopefully make finding files work better.
